Occasional pupdates on the adventures of Daphne and Newton, beagle besties who live for Bark Box, snuggling, and any imaginable snack.

Daphne (Daph, Dap, Dappie-Doo, Daponee) is a tricolored beauty with eyes lined in black and a broad, healthy, barrel chest. Rehomed at five months to her forever family (ME!) she’s too smart for her own good. Willful and playful, stubborn and anxious, Daph has a deep abiding love for food, her blankie, and my son, Bean. She’s terrified of cars, the vet, towels, doors, brooms, baths, strange men, the pool guy, the electrician, a knock at the door, and vacuum cleaners. She loves to dip in any body of water and she isn’t plagued by a fear of loud noises. She tolerates some dogs, but she adores her her little brother, Newton.

Newton (Newtie, Newtie-Patootie, Newt, Noodle) also joined our family at five months old. He was found abandoned in a hunting camp in Arkansas–because some humans are a total let down–and brought to a rescue because other humans have capacity for redemption. He’s the sweetest, most endearing pup on the planet. He loves you. A lot. And just in case you didn’t know it, he will show you by wagging, snuggling, pawing, licking, cuddling, and generally wanting to be in your space, on top or beside you, all the time. Unless there’s a squirrel. Then Newt has work to do.

Anyway. Those are my dogs. I’ll blog about their antics and post photos. You can also check their occasional appearances on my instagram.

Happy Day,

LB
